YOGA
The word ‘YOGA’ is derived from a Sanskrit root ,“yuj” which means to join, to yoke, to unite. Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India. In Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, there is a broad variety of yoga schools, practices, and goals. As per Yogic scriptures the practice of Yoga leads to the union of individual consciousness with that of the universal consciousness, indicating a perfect harmony between the mind and body, Man & Nature. The practice and popularization of Yoga is from the Pre vedic tradition and its still been followed and practice till date even in this modern era, during this busy life by everyone. This signifies the connection between yogic tradition and human consciousness.
The creator and practitioner of Yoga is LORD SHIVA, Lord Shiva is known as Adi yogi, the first Yogi, also known as Adi guru ,the first Guru through whom the basic of Yoga Science is been preached and practiced today.
Vaidya Ajil, born to a traditional Indian family were all the customs and traditions have been practiced and followed ,these cultures and traditions have influenced him very much for spiritual seeking, which made him to ponder in depth to know the values and importance, how it influences one’s life and know the various aspect, because of this keen interest inside him have made him to learn from the depth and know its root without missing any of its essence of yoga.
This spiritual seeking lead him to pursue his post graduate diploma (PGDY) and master’s in yoga science( MSc), from a well known South Indian university called Annamalai university, where the famous “Chidambaram Nataraja temple” is situated nearby, the place is well-known for spiritual seeking and also the root of Shiva the adiyogi, who created yoga and became the first yogi. According to the Indian mythology, Lord shiva’s Nataraja avatar has a close connection with the Yoga Sciences. Yoga is highly and intricately connected with classical dance, Lord Shiva is known as lord of dance, hence Chidhambaram situated in Tamil Nadu is incredibly special for dance and dancers . This is the only temple dedicated to the Lord Nataraja,it is known as the Chidambaram Nataraja temple or Thillai Nataraja temple, or Nataraj temple.
As the name of the city and the temple literally means “atmosphere of wisdom” or “clothed in thought”, the architecture of the temple symbolizes the connection between the arts and spirituality, creative activity and the divine. Yoga does not mean standing on one’s head or holding one’s breath. But it is the science and technology to know the essential nature of how this life is created and how it can be taken to its ultimate possibility, to inspire people towards inner well-being.Yoga involves the cosmos, which is the macrocosmos and microcosmos.
